The origins of use of a wedding band for men is tragic; although evidence of men wearing wedding rings as far back as 5000 years ago, up until the 1900s, it was traditionally only women who wore them as a way of displaying loyalty and love for their husbands. However, when WWII began, and men were separated from their beloveds, many more began wearing them for comfort and as a way of representing their connection. It was believed that they were carrying their loved ones with them. Romantic yet heart-breaking. The tradition remains and a large majority of men continue to wear a wedding ring to this day.

If, however, you have something special you’d like us to use, for example a piece of wood from an old childhood toy, some wood from his favourite whisky barrel, pieces of stone, grains of sand, a birthstone or something else unique then do let us know and we can work together to incorporate it into your designs.

This was designed by a customer who wanted to incorporate a little piece of ‘home’ from both sides of the world!
