A Match Made in the Mountains
Our customers are often inspired by nature and the world around them, and Becks and Rich are a perfect example of this.
Our relationship with this lovely couple began a while ago when Rich first designed an engagement ring for Becks. He knew he wanted to have a ring made of silver birch from the New Forest so searched online for wood rings and there we were!
“I went and met Steve in person to drop off some wood and was really excited.”
Rich then proposed to Becks on a glacier in Alaska! When they returned, she began thinking about designing a for a ring for him…
“I absolutely loved my engagement ring so wanted to design a wedding ring for Rich and Steve was really helpful in helping me with it.”
As keen lovers of hiking in the mountains, it seemed only right that this should be the starting point for her ideas. The mountains in the ring are filled with dried wildflowers that they picked when hiking in Montenegro. The snowy mountain tops are carefully crafted with mother of pearl and oak was chosen because Becks thinks of it as a ‘strong’, like Rich. The liner is made of maple and the green, off-centre inlay is made of preserved moss and represents the land. Truly a natural world inspired design.
Rich also chose to design a second ring for Becks. For her wedding ring he chose matching oak and had two inlays set into it. He appropriately chose mother of pearl and malachite. Being in the Royal Navy was the inspiration for the seashell and the malachite was representative of Becks being a forest ecologist.
They both opted for woodburning images inside their rings for each other too which is the icing on the bespoke cake as far as we’re concerned!
“The engravings on the inside are things that make us happy, including our cat, who was also engraved in my ring too.”
The rings look fabulous together and are now worn with pride by the happy couple!
Another wonderful example of how we are able to make ideas become a reality and, yet again, the pleasure is all ours.
